Spanish 1 Classwork: Week of Sept. 9-13, 2019

This week:  Introduction to Capítulo Para Empezar (In order to begin . . .)

Monday, 9/9: We started the Para Empezar chapter, looking at new vocabulary as it relates to greetings and introductions. We practiced this as a class and with partners. We discussed the cultural differences in formality among friends, clothing, etc. TB pp. 1-3. H/O: Vocab sheet. Period 1: HW assigned (flashcards provided to students). Wednesday, 9/11: TB p. 4-Continued practicing basic introductory dialogues through audio and verbal exercises.  TB p. 5-exploración del lenguaje (tú y usted). Discussion of formal and informal use of “you.” Listening, speaking and reading practice covered greetings, introductions, and farewells on TB p. 5 #4-6. Students received H/O of Practice WB packet, and completed pp 1-2 independently. Class reviewed p. 1, and will review p. 2 on Friday. Additional H/Os to Periods 3 & 4: Flashcards for Cap. Friday, 9/13:  HW check of vocab flash cards (10 pts.) Reviewed access to class page for access to classwork, upcoming quizzes/tests and homework assignments. Also, access to Realidades home page for additional activities. Reviewed HW in WB p. 2 (tú y Ud.) TB p. 6, presentation of classroom commands.  TB p. 7, presentation of numbers: 0-10, 11-20, 21 . . ., 30, 31. . ., 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100. TB p. 7 #8: verbal practice of supplying numbers in sequence. HW assigned in WB p. 3 and top p. 4.
