This week: Classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday.

Tuesday, Sept. 17:

New seat assignments! HW check, Practice WB pp. 3 & top p. 4 (10 pts.), Review classroom commands. TB p.7 # 9 & 10: review of numbers (speaking, listening, and writing/Partner and all-class responses). Focus:  Numbers 1-32. HW: Begin studying for Monday’s vocab quiz.

Thursday, Sept. 19:

• Short quiz on Monday covering greetings/farewells and introductions, numbers, and parts of the body.
• TEXTBOOK p. 9- El CUERPO. Work in small groups to review the parts of the body. Students should practice pointing to parts of the body when another student calls at the part in Spanish.
  • # 14: Once practiced several times until all are comfortable, each student in the group will take turns playing “SIMON” as in Simon Says. . . .
• Read article “Un latinoamericano típico?” Answer written questions. Discuss article in small groups. Collect written responses.
• Homework: Students will independently complete Workbook packet p. 5 on the body. STUDY for the quiz, using vocab sheet (left column), vocab flashcards, workbook and textbook completed exercises.

A look ahead:

Monday, Sept. 23:  Para Empezar Quiz on greetings/introductions, numbers and parts of the body. Format: Matching and Fill in the Blank.
