EXTRA CREDIT PROJECT GUIDELINES: Menu

Spanish 1 OPTIONAL Menu Project – Extra  Credit

You are the new proud owner of a breakfast/lunch café! You need to name your café (in Spanish) and create complete meals for breakfast and lunch.

Unfortunately, you have decided to open your business in the middle of a snowstorm. Your food supply is extremely limited. The list of foods/ingredients that you have on hand are on your chapter vocabulary sheet (TB p. 144). In other words, you will not be able to offer any food that is not on your list.

Until the storm passes, you will be offering 4 complete meals for both breakfast and 4 complete meals for lunch.

Menu Checklist:

  1. Create a one-sided menu on 8 1/2 x 11” white printer paper.
  2. Give your restaurant a Spanish name and include it on the menu.
  3. Provide 8 meals, 4 in each: El Desayuno and El Almuerzo.
    • Each meal should have 3-4 items, which includes a drink.
    • Consider offering different types of meals for varying diet requirements.
  4. Make the menu neat and colorful
  5. Include at least 4 pictures of menu items.
  6. Use the computer or create it by hand.
    • By hand? Make sure you are printing legibly.
  7. Use correct spelling and punctuation (accent marks, etc.)
    • Use only Spanish on the menu-absolutely no English!
  8. Include prices for your complete meals.

Who should do the project?

  • Only those students who are earning less than 70% OR are are near the cut-off of the grade they would like to move up to should complete the extra credit.
    • If you meet the above criteria, be sure that you have submitted any missing/incomplete Qtr 3 assignments.
