EXTRA CREDIT PROJECT GUIDELINES: CLOTHING

WHO:

  • Only those students who are earning less than 70% OR are near the cut-off of the grade they would like to move up to should complete the extra credit.
  • If you meet the above criteria, be sure that you have submitted any missing/incomplete Qtr 3 assignments before you start on the extra credit.

WHEN:

  • Scan/send it to my email no later than Wednesday, April 1 by 5:00 pm.

WHAT:

Based on the homework that was due on Friday, March 13, you are to print, draw, or cut out several pictures of either brightly colored clothing/outfits, or pictures of people wearing such articles. Once you have these pictures, you are to write 10 good sentences with 10 different subjects,  describing what fictitious people are wearing (10 different articles of clothing). You will practice using the present progressive tense (estar + present participle of llevar).

  • Example: If I have a picture of a red skirt, I could write. . . Yo estoy llevando una falda roja.

Additional Guidelines:

  1. Complete on 8 1/2 x 11″ white unruled printer paper.
  2. Include at least 10 pictures of different articles of clothing/several outfits.
  3. Write 10 sentences with different subjects.
    • use a variety of subject pronouns and people’s names (yo, tú, él, ella, Ud., José, etc.)
  4. Conjugate present progressive tense of  llevar.
    • Be sure to conjugate the verb estar based on the subject of the sentence.
    • Add the present participle of llevar.
  5. Use indefinite articles (un/una/unos/unas) with the clothing article, instead of definite articles.
    • Indefinite articles must agree in number and gender with the article of clothing.
  6. Describe the article using the color in your picture.
    • Colors must also agree in number and gender with the article of clothing.
  7. Submit the pictures and the sentences. Can you put them all in one document/one page? That would be great, even if you literally need to cut and paste.
    • You may do everything on the computer or hand-written.
      • If you are doing this by hand, please print and write legibly.
  8. Use correct spelling and punctuation (accent marks, etc.)
  9. Project should be neat and colorful.
  10. You must include your name on the project itself.
  11. Do not use any English.
  12. Send me a document, or scan using your phone and email it to me, no later than Weds. at 5:00pm.
