CP Anatomy Week of September 8, 2020

Chapter Preview – This chapter first defines and contrasts anatomy and physiology and discusses the levels of organization complexity in the human body.  The needs and functional processes common to all living organisms are reviewed.  Three essential concepts – complementarity of structure and function, hierarchy of structural organization, and homeostasis – will form the bedrock for the study of the human body and will provide the unifying threads for the topics in this course.  The final section will present the language of anatomy – the terminology “tools” that are used to describe the body or its parts.
