certain phrases that are different

A couple that we dealt with in class are the following: when someone wants to say ” I like him” or “I like her” , we can say je l’aime bien.  However, we often use the verb Plaire ( To please) to cover this topic and in which case we say il/elle me plait. whereas, we would use ” je lui plais” to indicate that she likes me.

Similarly when we want to express that you miss someone we say in French “il/elle me manque”  as opposed to “je lui manque” or you can say in  the 2nd person “tu me manques beaucoup ( i miss you lots)

These expressions are frequently in French and are worth knowing.

in the Futur proche, all you need to do is make the required corrections: Il/elle va me manquer or je vais lui manquer; in the passe compose Il/elle m’a manque or Je lui ai manque.
