Ave Maria Awards
Notre Dame High School is proud to recognize our distinguished Alumni and Friends through the Ave Maria Awards. Honoring our graduates for their commitment to the Catholic faith, professional achievements, personal giving and commitment to leading future generations in the field of education are important aspects of living our Mission. Honors will be awarded in the following categories:
- Distinguished Graduate Award – given annually to the alumna or alumnus of Notre Dame High School who has distinguished herself or himself in their professional pursuits, in the community, in the Catholic Church or in society at large.
- Joseph R. Kramer, Jr. Distinguished Educator Award – given annually to the alumna, alumnus or member (past or present) of the faculty who has served for ten or more years at Notre Dame who excels in the field of education and embodies the foundations of a Notre Dame High School education and its Mission.
- Religious Vocation Award – given annually to the alumna, alumnus of Notre Dame, or a friend of ND who serves the Catholic Church as a Bishop, Priest, Sister, Deacon or in a manner that brings to life our Catholic faith and to the community.
- Crusader Award – given annually to an alumna, alumnus or friend of Notre Dame who has rendered distinguished service to the school.
- Young Crusader Award – given annually to an alumna, alumnus or friend of Notre Dame who graduated from High School within the past twenty-five years, and who has rendered distinguished service to the school.
Nominations will be accepted through November 30 by the Development Office. Nominations will not be considered complete without an application and detailed description of their professional achievements/awards/special recognitions/areas of service. A selection committee will review all nominees and award recipients will be notified by January 15. All award recipients are requested to attend the Ave Maria Awards Ceremony at the Notre Dame Gala (held the first weekend of May every year).
