We have been focused on the Holy Spirit this past week.  We had a Bible Activity entitled “Who is the Holy Spirit” in which students read six passages of scripture and answered questions such as

What gift(s) of the Holy Spirit are mentioned?

Is the Holy Spirit characterized as dynamic or passive?

What do we learn about the Holy Spirit in this passage?

We discussed each passage of scripture as a class.

The students were also given a Spiritual Gift Inventory packet which they had time to do in class.  If they were not able to finish, I assigned the packet for homework to be completed over the weekend.  From this inventory students will determine their spiritual giftings.  Afterward they will write a 1-2 page paper on a gift they choose to research and also a Saint who exemplified this particular gift.

Next week, Students will spend time on their Spiritual Gift paper, using Chrome books to research and type it.  Then we will begin Chapter 5, the Sacrament of the Eucharist.  Students will begin to record their Vocabulary words and also begin their Chapter review questions.  A Vocabulary quiz  on Ch. 5 is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 4 (Day B) and Wednesday, Feb. 5 (Day A).
