Tuesday (B)/ Wednesday (A): We are continuing with speech research. Please check the homework for due dates for the speech outline. All of the directions are there.

Thursday/Friday: I will be reviewing citations: both parenthetical and verbal.BOTH WILL BE REQUIRED IN YOUR WRITTEN SPEECH. Please refer the the Purdue OWL link in the resources document on the class page.  All students should be writing their speeches at home for homework after this point. Refer to the packet and homework assignments for requirements.

THEN: We will be working in the textbook again with students working on their speeches at home. Be sure to get the notes on literary terms for “The Devil and Tom Walker” by Washington Irving and read the story (pages 240-250). We will be completing a chart on Direct and Indirect Characterization, Direct and Indirect Setting, Mood, Tone, Voice and Theme. This chart can be found on the class page. This will take us through the next week. Remember to be thorough and precise – your grade depends upon it.
