Monday, Feb. 4:

Warm-Up:  Review of ser & estar, answering the following questions with the correct verb and conjugation! Use the response in parenthesis to help you decide which verb to use.

  1. ¿Cómo ____ tú?  (-Bien.)
  2. ¿Cómo  ____ él? (-Inteligente.)
  3. ¿De qué ___ las joyas? (-De oro y plata.)
  4. ¿Dónde___ los estudiantes hoy? (En casa. Es sábado.)

Reviewed uses of ser & estar. (See TB p. 86). Reviewed answers to TB p. 86 #19.

Tuesday, Feb. 5:

Warm-Up:  Review of  reflexive pronouns and verbs. Fill-in the following blanks with pronouns, infinitives or conjugated verbs.

  1. ___baño por la noche antes de acostar__  .
  2. ¿ Vas a _____ algo elegante para el baile?
  3. ¿ Tiene que ______ (get up) temprano Julio?
  4. ¡Es necesario ______ temprano también!
  5.  (Nosotros) ________ para el baile después de las clases.

Students worked with partners asking and answering questions about the morning routine using chapter reflexive verb vocabulary.  (Communicative and writing activity).  Note: Verbs must be conjugated unless they are used in the infinitive in a verb phrase, for example: Me voy./ Tengo que irme.

Period 2: Complete  WAV p. 32 for H/W.

Wednesday, Feb 6:

Warm-Up:  Review basic conjugation of -ar, -er and -ir verbs.

Review the meaning of a reflexive verbs and their conjugations. Complete WAV p. 32 (What did Esteban do this morning?) OJO: Should all the verbs that are reflected in the pictures be reflexive?? Reviewed work sheet as a class with additional reflexive verb conjugation explanations.

H/W:  Complete WAV p. 33 (ser & estar). This packet was handed out in class either yesterday (period 2) or today (period 8).  Study basic verb conjugations and reflexive verb conjugations for tomorrow’s reflexive verb quiz. What are the reflexive pronouns? (me, te, se . . .) How do you conjugate reflexive verbs? Study from guided practice, core practice, textbook, and Realidades on-line activities.

Thursday, Feb. 7:

Warm-Up: Hand-out: conjugation chart worksheet. Review of subject pronouns, reflexive pronouns, -ar, -er, & -ir verb conjugations, stem-changing verbs, reflexive verb conjugations.

Reflexive verb conjugation closed-book exercise.  (Submit workbooks for evaluation.)

Friday, Feb. 8: 

  • Review of yesterday’s reflexive verb conjugation exercise.
  • Review of short form of possessive adjectives
  • Introduction to longer form of possessive adjectives, TB p. 88 (gramatica box and # 22 in binder).
  • H/W assigned in Guided Practice (p. 68) and Core (p. 35)
