Ir ISS verbs – French I

2/7/19- we learned recently that there are 6 verbs which constitute the IR SST (Pacman) verbs which have a particular conjugating pattern.

Today I introduced the remaining IR verbs which are known as IT ISS verbs. They are made up of all remaining Ir verbs considered “regular’. Verbs such as FINIR, Applaudir, rougir, Obeir, etc. There are verbs such as Venir and Tenir , although they end with IR , as not in fact considered as IR ISS nor SST verbs. They are known as Irregular IR verbs.

Like other conjugations, one needs to drop the IR endings and are left with the stem of the verbs. To those we add: _Is, _Is, _It,  in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd person singular and _ISSONS, _ISSEZ, _ISSENT, in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd person plural.

example 1-  Julie FINIR son sandwich>> Julie Finit son sandwich.  Example 2-  Nous Finir la pizza>>  Nous Finissons la pizza.

example 3- nous applaudir les joueurs>> nous applaudissons les joueurs.
