Cheryl Fenton was born in Queens, New York. Her parents moved the family to Easton, Pennsylvania where she attended both St Joseph and St. Jane grade schools. Cheryl and her four siblings all graduated from Notre Dame High School. Prior to coming to Notre Dame, Cheryl worked for Exxon in East Millstone, New Jersey. She worked in the field of genetic toxicology performing Ames and mouse lymphoma mutagen assays. As a faculty member, Cheryl taught anatomy and physiology, biology, forensics, human genetics and microbiology for twenty one years. She also served as the department chair for fifteen years. After leaving the classroom, Cheryl joined the administrative team as the school’s Admissions Director.
Cheryl has been involved in coaching cheerleading for thirty-five years, twenty-five years as ND’s head coach. She has also been the student council moderator at the school for twenty plus years.
When she takes time away from her Notre Dame family, Cheryl spends a great deal of time with her own family, Sierra, a 2005 graduate of Notre Dame and her two wonderful grandsons Brady and Aidan.
She feels blessed to have called Notre Dame her home for the past twenty-seven years.
