introduction IR SST (pacman) verbs

2/5/19 introduced a new unit; the IR SST (Pacman) verbs. There are two types of IR ending vebds which are considered regular; i.e they all follow a specific pattern. The IR SST (Pacman) and the IR ISS verbs. There are irregular IR verbs, as Venir & Tenir which do not.

The 6 IR -SST (pacman) verbs are known by the acronym: Some People Dont Sleep Much Sundays. They are SORTIR  (TO GO OUT/TO TAKE OUT); PARTIR (To leave/Depart); DORMIR (to Sleep); SENTIR (To feel /to smell); MENTIR (to Lie); SERVIR (To serve).

As one knows the first thing to do to conjugate any French verb is to drop the ending, whether it is ER, RE or IR.

The six verbs known as Ir SST (Pacman) , one also drops the ending but the pacman also ‘DEVOURS’ the consonant that precedes the IR; For example in the verb SORTIR, one drops the IR and pacman devours the T,  leaving us with the stem ‘SOR’. THIS TAKES PLACE ONLY IN THE SINGULAR FORM.  In the verb PARTIR, you drop the T & IR etc… The remaining stem for all these verbs in the order above is: SOR, PAR, DOR, SEN. MEN, and SER.  AGAIN THIS ONLY TAKES PLACE IN THE SINGULAR FORM.

To these STEMS one must add S in the 1st person, S in the 2nd person and T in the 3rd person.

In the plural,  all the consonants Pacman ‘devoured’  return. The stems once again become ‘normal’ and are now SORT, PART, DORM, SENT, MENT and SERV and to these stems we add ‘ons’, in the 1st person plural, ‘ez’ in the 2nd person plural and ‘ent’ in the 3rd person plural.
