FRENCH I- INTRODUCTION the Verb ALLER

As previously mentioned there are three ways of saying something in the present tense in English as opposed to one way in French. They are I & the verb, I eat, I sleep etc, or 2-  I do +the verb, as in I do sleep, I do eat and 3- I am +the verb, as in I am eating, sleeping.  The verb ALLER is one of many irregular French verbs,  which means that it does not follow a particular pattern , as in ER-ending verbs.  It has its own conjugation:

Singular: je vais (I go/ I do go/ I am going),  tu vas (you go/you do go/ you are going), il/elle/on va (he/she/one goes/ he/she/one does go, he/she/one is going)

Plural : Nous allons (we go/we do go/we are going), vous allez ( you go/you do go/you are going) ils/elles vont (they go/they do go/they are going).

For the purposes of this illustration I wrote out all three English versions of the present tense, but will not do so in the future.
