Tuesday, November 5th – students will be given time to work in their groups on their Magazine project due December 17th.

Lecture:

Overview: Blood Composition and Functions

– Describe the composition and physical characteristics of whole blood.

-Explain why it is classified as a connective tissue.

-List the eight functions of blood.

-Describe the structure, function and production of erythrocytes (including Hemoglobin)

– Describe the various types of anemia

 

Thursday, November 7th

-Notebook Quiz on Blood Composition and Functions of Blood; Erythrocytes and typing

Lecture:

-List the classes, structural characteristics, and functions of each type of leukocyte

-Describe how leukocytes are produced

-Examples of leukocyte disorders, and explain what goes wrong in each disorder
