Biographical Info

Born and raised in the Allentown Diocese, Miss Galassi (“Miss G” to her students), attended St. Joseph the Worker School and Allentown Central Catholic High School. After a powerful encounter with Christ in the Eucharist during her high school years, Miss Galassi decided to pursue studies in Theology and Philosophy at DeSales University. During her time at DeSales, Miss Galassi worked in the Campus Ministry office as well as interned with the Vatican in the Pontifical Council for Social Communications while studying abroad in Rome. Over two summers, she worked as a staff member with Catholic Heart Work Camp, an organization that hosts service trips for Catholic youth groups across the country.

Upon graduating from DeSales, Miss Galassi decided to pursue further studies at the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Marriage and Family Studies in Washington D.C. She now holds her Master’s of Theological Studies degree (M.T.S.) with a specialization in Marriage and Family Studies. While in D.C., Miss Galassi worked at the St. John Paul II National Shrine where she met the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy and began discerning with their community. She entered the community upon graduating from the Institute and spent 8 months as a postulant.

Discerning the Lord calling her back out of religious life, Miss Galassi moved home to the Allentown Diocese and began working at St. Joseph the Worker School teaching middle school math. Hearing about a theology position at Notre Dame, she jumped at the opportunity to teach the subject that she loves. This is now her second year at Notre Dame, and she absolutely loves sharing her faith with her students who challenge her each day to incarnate the beautiful truths of the Gospel more and more.

This year, Miss Galassi began directing the choir here at Notre Dame. As an active member of the Cathedral Parish of St. Catherine of Siena, during her free time she also cantors and sings in three choirs of her own.
